Teaching a dog to stop on request is a very useful and possibly life saving cue. We particularly like this two-part demo as it shows a number of real-life scenarios and mixes in teaching stop when playing with the owners as well as at a distance.

Note: when practising, don't recall your dog and then ask for a stop as this could hinder the development of a fast recall.
