Working with a dog reactive Great Dane

John McGuigan

We've included this to show dog owners that in many cases this type of behavior can be changed, and to give you an idea of how that may be achieved.

We recommend that if you have any issues of aggression (dog to dog and/or dog to people) you work with a professional trainer.

This shows a session with Drako, a young Great Dane who is reactive to other dogs who are too close. By controlling the distance and keeping Drako feeling safe, making good associations (dogs=food) and reinforcing calm behaviours, you can see that his behavior is gradually changing.
